Gallery in the Park is located on Treaty One Territory, the ancestral and traditional homeland of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Dakota, Dene, Metis, and Oji-Cree Nations. We honour and respect this land, while also recognizing that it is our duty to be clear and accurate about the history and original peoples of this place. As we journey along the path of reconciliation, this acknowledgement is an expression of respect and appreciation for the Indigenous peoples and communities who have cared for and continue to care for this land.

Friesens Corporation envisioned that this gallery and outdoor sculpture garden would make Altona a destination for tourists and art enthusiasts alike.
